Editorial and Publishing
We provide writing, editing and project management of all types of editorial content including articles and essays, research and investigative reports, surveys, books, speeches, corporate annual reports, ‘advertorial’ special sections, conference summaries and white papers, and press releases.

Advisory and Representation
We advise clients on Asia-related political and economic issues and policy analysis, political risk assessment, network building, media strategy and communications, government relations, event organization and management, corporate social responsibility including the implementation of carbon-neutral programs, board appointment searches, and protocol. We have acted as the Asia representatives of organizations outside the region.

Speakers Bureau
We maintain a global database of speakers on a variety of topics, particularly Asia-related issues, and provide event organizers with confidential assessments of potential speakers and moderators. We have a network of associates who are experienced speakers on the rise of China and India, the impact of China’s economic growth on the global economy, the effects of globalization, and the political and economic dynamics of East Asia. Our associates have also provided media training to corporate clients.

Cesar Bacani, Managing Partner - A Filipino citizen and permanent resident of Hong Kong, Cesar was personal finance editor and senior business editor at Asiaweek, which was part of the Time Warner group. During his 13 years at the magazine, he was based in Hong Kong and Kuala Lumpur. He was responsible for managing the team that produced the magazine’s annual rankings of Asia’s 1,000 largest companies and 500 biggest banks, as well as the lists of the best universities and MBA schools. Cesar is the author of The China Investor: Getting Rich with the Next Superpower, which was published by John Wiley & Sons. He is currently a contributing editor for CFO Asia and CFO China, specialist publications of the Economist Group. Cesar is an experienced speaker on investing in China and China-related equities. A graduate of the University of the Philippines, he is an award-winning poet and a former university lecturer.

Alejandro Reyes, Managing Partner - A Hong Kong-based journalist and consultant, Al is currently a Visiting Associate Professor in the Department of Politics and Public Administration of the University of Hong Kong. He served as Program Manager for the inaugural Clinton Global Initiative Asia meeting in Hong Kong in December 2008. From 2006-7, he was a Senior Fellow at the Atlantic Council of the United States, a think tank in Washington, DC. During 2005-6, Al was a Visiting Scholar at the Weatherhead East Asian Institute at Columbia University in New York. In 2004-5, he was a Visiting Scholar at the Scripps School of Journalism at Ohio University, Athens. A Canadian citizen with permanent residence in Hong Kong, he was a Senior Policy Adviser to the Canadian Foreign Minister on G8 issues and foreign policy development when Canada held the G8 chair in 2002. He was a member of the Canadian delegation to the G8 Foreign Ministers Meeting that year. From 1988 to 2001, Al worked at Asiaweek, where he was the magazine’s Southeast Asian Business Correspondent, Singapore and Hong Kong Bureau Chief, Senior Correspondent for Regional Affairs, and Editor-at-Large. For six years, he was the youngest senior correspondent at any Time Inc. publication. Al has written for various publications including The Wall Street Journal and Forbes, and has appeared on CNN, CNBC and Al Jazeera as a commentator on Asian affairs. He has authored two books, including an investment guide to Asian markets. He edited a book on banking in Asia that was written by McKinsey & Co. consultants and published in 2003. He is completing a book on the movement against globalization. Al was educated at Harvard University and Oxford University. In 2000, Queens University of Charlotte, NC, awarded him an honorary doctorate for achievement in journalism and his support of international cultural exchange and education.

Don Durfee,
Partner - Don is the former editor of CFO Asia and CFO China, two specialist magazines published by The Economist Group. He joined the magazine in January 2007 as managing editor after several years with CFO magazine in New York, where he served as research editor. During his time at CFO, Don wrote award-winning features on diverse topics, ranging from executive compensation to the financial problems confronting American cities. He also spearheaded the magazine's editorial research, designing surveys on topics such as CFOs' struggles to maintain a work/life balance and the financial motives behind corporate political campaign donations. Additionally, he organized the global expansion of the Duke University/CFO magazine Business Outlook Survey, a quarterly economic forecast used by the US Federal Reserve, economists, and corporations
. Prior to his time at CFO, Don was a senior editor with the Economist Intelligence Unit in New York. Before that he served as the managing editor of the Alliance Analyst, a fortnightly newsletter examining joint ventures and partnerships. Don has undergraduate degrees in history from Tufts University and music from New England Conservatory. He also holds a master’s degree in international affairs from Columbia University.

Charles Lee, Partner - A Korean-American, Charles
has almost 20 years of experience as a journalist and analyst in North America, Europe and Asia. Most recently, he wrote about political and economic developments in key Asian countries for the Economist Intelligence Unit, and edited its biweekly newsletter Business China from Hong Kong. He was also associate director, China, for EIU Corporate Network, a business advisory service, for three years. Before that, Charles covered the Asian financial crisis for the Far Eastern Economic Review as a correspondent in Seoul, followed the rise and fall of the Internet boom in Asia for Asiaweek as a regional business correspondent, and commented on Hong Kong’s democratic aspirations for the South China Morning Post as its deputy op-ed editor and an editorial writer. He began his journalism career in the foreign news department at Newsweek in New York, following stints as a researcher at the OECD in Paris and the Congressional Research Service in Washington, DC. Charles graduated from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), with a BA in political science and economics, and has an MA from the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy at Tufts University, where he studied international relations. He is fluent in Korean and French.
